Dental Implants

New Jersey dentist Dr. Ciampi offers dental implants at our Monmouth County practice for individuals missing one or more teeth from their smile. Dental implants provide these patients with an attractive, functional tooth replacement option that looks and feels just like a natural tooth. As a leading Eastern New Jersey dental implants expert, our Monmouth County dentist has helped many patients rediscover their natural smiles. Not only do dental implants eliminate gaps left by missing teeth, but they help maintain jawbone mass, provide for comfortable chewing, and offer unsurpassed stability, which removable dentures cannot provide. In addition, dental implants do not require the alteration of neighboring teeth as bridges do.

The Implantation and Crowning Procedure

For replacement of an individual tooth, a single titanium anchor is carefully implanted within the jaw bone. Once the area has healed, this anchor acts as an artificial tooth root, which will hold the replacement crown firmly in place. Your implant crown or "restoration" is custom crafted to match your surrounding teeth perfectly so that your smile looks incredibly natural. When your restoration is ready, Dr. Ciampi will snap the crown into place, finishing your implant. This procedure can be performed to replace multiple teeth, secure a dental bridge, or to create implant secured dentures - there are many possibilities.

For a New Jersey dentist experienced in placing dental implants, contact our Monmouth County cosmetic dentistry practice, Spring Lake Dental Care. Dr. Ciampi will help you explore your dental implants options and choose the procedure that will provide you with superior results.

Invisalign®

Invisalign®Invisalign®, offered at our New Jersey cosmetic dentistry practice, is a revolutionary way to help you get straight, even teeth without noticeable, painful metal braces. The Invisalign® aligners that are used to straighten the teeth are made of custom fitted clear plastic, so they are virtually undetectable. The aligners work slowly, shifting crooked or crowded teeth into their proper position, creating a beautifully aligned smile. Unlike traditional braces, the Invisalign® system has no metal, making the aligners incredibly comfortable and easy to wear.

During your consultation, Dr. Ciampi will examine your smile to determine if Invisalign® is a good option for you. If he sees that you will achieve good results with Invisalign®, Dr. Ciampi will design an individualized treatment plan using tooth impressions. From the impressions, a series of approximately ten to twenty aligners will be created (depending on the degree of straightening required). Every two weeks you will progress to a new aligner until your teeth are fully shifted into place. Most patients are required to wear the Invisalign® aligners for about 12 months to achieve ideal results.

TMJ Treatment with Our Specialist

Thousands of Americans currently suffer from facial, jaw, head, and neck pain caused by malfunction of the TMJ or temporomandibular joint. The TMJ is the joint that connects the jaw (mandible) to the skull, and often times the TMJ can become damaged, inflamed, or dislocated, causing serious pain. Temporomandibular disorders or TMD can be caused by a variety of factors, many of which can be remedied by a New Jersey TMJ specialist such as Dr. Ciampi.

First, Dr. Ciampi performs a thorough evaluation to diagnose the type of dysfunction that is occurring with the TMJ. Depending on his findings, Dr. Ciampi will then recommend the most appropriate treatment to restore health, balance, and proper function to the TMJ. As each patient's case is unique, we offer a variety of surgical and nonsurgical TMJ treatment options. Therapy may involve a special splint to realign the bite called a neuromuscular orthosis, a semi-permanent splint, comprehensive orthodontics (including braces), or tooth restoration.

TMD is a serious disorder that should only be treated by an expert. In New Jersey TMJ specialist Dr. Ciampi can provide you with the comprehensive treatment you need to alleviate your TMJ pain. Contact Spring Lake Dental Care today to schedule your consultation.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are a versatile option for replacing missing teeth and restoring a healthy bite. Bridges are composed of several artificial teeth bonded together to bridge a gap caused by tooth loss. Some dental bridges are removable and others are fixed into place using porcelain crowns or dental implants. Depending on the condition of your mouth, Dr. Ciampi will help you decide what type of bridge will work best for you.

The results that can be achieved with dental bridges appear natural and provide excellent support for maintaining a healthy bite. Generally speaking, bridges are a relatively inexpensive tooth replacement option that may be covered by dental insurance. For further information about dental bridges, contact our Spring Lake practice in Monmouth County today.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Metal fillings can make teeth appear dark and discolored, which is why today we fill cavities using tooth-colored fillings. Using a durable resin composite material or a custom crafted porcelain inlay, your cavity can be filled with a stronger, more natural looking substance that is virtually undetectable. Now, no matter how many cavities you have had filled, your smile can appear unblemished and brilliant. To find out if tooth-colored fillings are a good option for you, please contact Spring Lake Dental Care today.

Periodontal Treatments

Periodontal Disease Treatment

Unfortunately, gum disease (periodontal disease) is a major cause of tooth loss that can cause several serious health problems if left untreated. Periodontal disease is caused by excess plaque buildup, which can harbor toxic bacteria that attack your gums. Generally, gum tissue affected by periodontal disease is swollen, red, and more prone to bleeding than healthy gum tissue. If you are seeing any of these signs, we highly recommend that you come to Spring Lake Dental Care for treatment as soon as possible. If periodontal disease is detected and treated early, Dr. Ciampi can help you reverse the damage and regain healthy gums. For those with advanced periodontal disease who are threatened with tooth loss (or who have already lost teeth), we also offer a variety of cosmetic and restorative procedures that can bring back health and beauty to your smile.

Therapeutic Periodontal Maintenance

Though twice-daily brushing and flossing are excellent for maintaining the health of your teeth and gums between visits, regular examinations and cleanings are an absolute necessity for a healthy mouth. In addition to providing the usual tooth polishing and cavity check during your exam, we also complete a thorough check of your gums and the gingival pockets to detect any signs of gingivitis and periodontal disease early. Schedule a preventative examination and cleaning at Spring Lake Dental Care by contacting our office today.
