The latest member poll from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) shows cosmetic dentistry procedures have increased significantly over the past 5 years. The rate of teeth whitening procedures increased 300%, while porcelain veneers increased 250% and direct bonding rose by 100%. At his New Jersey cosmetic dentistry practice, Dr. Peter Ciampi says he has seen a similar increase in cosmetic procedures, and stresses the importance of choosing a dental practice that provides a custom treatment plan when considering any form of a smile makeover.
According to the latest member poll from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), cosmetic dentistry procedures have substantially increased over the last five years; teeth whitening procedures alone have risen more than 300%. A work up includes diagnostic study models of the patients mouth that mimic the movements of a patient’s mouth and allow to check their unique bite or occlusion. Managing the proper bite of the patient ensures that we have long-term successful restorations. The use of intra and extraoral photographs to analyze the patients smile enables us to determine the number of restorations required to achieve the patient’s desired smile.”
